31 JULY – 2 AUGUST 2010 – SONISPHERE FESTIVAL, KNEBWORTH UK

I was shooting at Sonisphere for Rotosound, I arrived on the 2nd day around midday and the festival was already in full swing. I was camping again which didn’t appeal too much, but acquired the coolest and most recognisable tent I could find as I’m quite lousy at remembering where I set up camp in a sea of predominantly black tents! This one, I was sure would stick out a mile! Outside my little zebra print tent you can see a white step stool. I called this my “special” stool. I’m a petite person and experience has taught me that at these big festivals you need height to shoot the main stages. Something which I lack unless in heels, which I’m not about to break an ankle over – especially in unpredictable festival weather! So this stool serves me well. I could have put a few band stickers on it though right? Nevermind. This festival I didn’t have a huge amount of running around to do from stage to stage so was networking, photographing interviews with journalist friend Tazz Stander and some live shots for Rotosound. Fear Factory were first on my list, having photographed them at their London show […]

14th & 15th AUGUST 2009 – BLOODSTOCK FESTIVAL, DERBY, UK

Last time I was at Bloodstock was in 2007 and it was an absolute blast so I was excited to be going again this year. Working for Devolution & Terrorizer Magazine and also Ed Stone Rockwear…

I travelled up with Godsized – due to open 2nd stage – the Sophie Lancaster Stage on the Friday evening. Arriving slightly later into the Friday due to a Steak pit stop – if you have to know anything about Godsized they really love their Steak! Finally arriving at the venue, it’s an absolute nightmare to find where to go. We end up camping with the caterers behind the 2nd stage tent. Thinking a 1:30am curfew on that stage would be totally fine for us and karaoke can’t be that bad. WRONG! hahaha. We heard System of a Down and Guns and Roses being absolutely murdered! I started work by photographing the Godsized boys on the 2nd stage and did a little filming for them too. The tent was full and it was such a good start to the festival. Backstage I found this random sign where the bands kit is supposed to go. I did wonder whether it was a failed piece of artwork […]

EVILE PROMOS

Evile called me in to do their promos for their up and coming ‘For those who are about to tour” poster campaign. Amazing. We met up at a bar in North London and had a catch up, shoot and Subway (we all agreed Subway was the way to go for fast food) Shooting with them was fun and easy as we didn’t really have to do any warm up pictures as such having worked together many times before. Above is a small teaser from the shoot. As always I like to do funny pictures at the end if the bands/people are up for it and of course Evile said yes. Maybe I will post a few of them another time. I had to have a picture taken with the guys so called the barmaid over to grab a quick shot. Mike said to the others “let’s pick her up for a picture”, Ol says “nooo i don’t wanna do that” haha. It was quite comical.

EXODUS & EVILE IN LONDON, UK

Having worked with Evile on numerous occasions since 2007 their profile had increased – I was stoked that they got on a major tour with Exodus – a really great experience and opportunity for them! Shooting both bands for Ed Stone Rockwear was fun today! Exodus are of the best bands I’ve worked with on promo shoots. Rob Dukes had an amazing amount of poses and faces which made my job so much easier. They were so chatty too, with an offer of hanging out for a drink on the tour bus after the show with them all. I could tell that Exodus and Evile had been getting on really well so far as the banter and vibe between both bands was really great Evile stood just out of this shot and were trying to make the Exodus guys laugh. Evile then stepped in to harass Gary Holt and we took a fun picture. Then more fun photos were taken. It was best to make a collage out of these pictures as they’re all so comical. A super fun shoot with a bunch of great guys who know how to kill it on stage. Awesome!
