The Drowning Sorrows

Having shot with 2 members of this band in the very early days, I was stoked they called me in to shoot again – this time with the full lineup. The Drowning Sorrows describe themselves as an eclectic mix of Country, Blues & Rockabilly played with the energy of a punk rock band. They were certainly a joy to shoot with! A teaser from the shoot at the 12 Bar Club in ‘Tin Pan Alley’ London last weekend. The first shoot I’ve ever done with a double bass – such a beautiful instrument. MACHINE HEAD IN BELGIUM

My first ever pro band photo shoot with my favourite band. You can imagine my excitement. I travelled on the Eurostar to stay with my friend Cindy and as I arrived, first stop was a drive to the tattoo shop. I had said to myself that when I work with a band I would get a tattoo to commemorate. Not an actual band tattoo, but one that would remind me personally of the experience. I went to see Cindy’s friend at Tattoo Mike with a Fleur de Lys design that I really liked. Funny thing was I didn’t realise the significance of the Fleur de Lys. It’s the symbol for Lille – where I arrived on the Eurostar. That was a bonus for me. Shortly after my tattoo was done, we would get ready to go to the venue for the photo shoot and show. I was slightly nervous and excited. Lamb of God were there and walking past to catering saying “hey” every time. Very friendly guys.
