Meet the Ladies – Makeover + Shoot Day #2

We had such a fun time on the 2nd Makeover + Shoot Day! If you are on my Facebook Page, you would have seen teasers go up over the past couple of weeks. Ceri, Amber and I had such varied looks to work with; a classic 40’s/50’s style, casual rocked up look, vintage gothic, alternative lingerie and a classy high fashion style shoot. Here’s some of my favourite pictures from the day They all look absolutely stunning! Wouldn’t you agree?! I really do love to put on these Makeover Days, especially when I get to photograph some ladies that book, and it’s their first time in front of the camera for a professional shoot. To see the transformation and their confidence boost is one of my favourite things. We will be running another one next year. Wow hasn’t time gone by! I will put an announcement up soon with a poster for the next Makeover + Shoot Day. You can join me on my Facebook Page as well. I’m bowled over to see it has hit over 3,500 “likes”. Thank you :) Hope to meet some more of you next year! Mx

Published in Austria!

Wild at Heart clothing store opened on Halloween and is the first of its’ kind in Vienna, Austria, with over 4,000 square feet of alternative goodness (imagine Camden in North London). Back in August, the owners flew over to London to shoot with me for the fashion campaign which involved all the store decor and promotion. They called in top London based alternative models Nina Kate, Hayley Leggs, Morrigan Hel, Dickie Smith and Shelly D’Inferno, and I used my great team on hair and makeup – Ceri Cushen and Stacey Frow (Stacey did makeup on Hayley & Dickie) I hope to visit the store at some point and take some pictures. But in the mean time, here’s some quick snaps they have taken. I was stoked to see the displays bigger than I thought they would be! (All snaps with credit to Wild at Heart, Vienna) Large window displays of each of the models. Huge canvas of Shelly D’Inferno and Morrigan Hel behind the till point Various images on Swing Tags Framed images throughout the store (Nina Kate & Shelly D’Inferno pictured) Images on red canvases also around the store Also on the flyer for their in-house tattoo and piercing […]

Cristina Scabbia collaborates with SCA!

I love it when I can finally share things that have been going on behind the scenes. This collaboration has been a few months in the making with emails and conversations. Finally we can share it. Seventh Circle Artworks are now working with Lacuna Coil‘s front-woman Cristina Scabbia! So exciting! SCA have issued a press release with details of the collaboration. Cristina is excited to be on board and has already discussed great ideas for her collection; which will be the first SCA release for 2013, and taking on a more feminine style. Cristina says, “I LOVE skulls but it would have to be something different, definitely not biker style but more classy…with balls!” We met up with her before Lacuna Coil’s sold out show, in London’s KoKo venue, for her initial photo shoot – the decor and layout was perfect for her style; red & black, velvet and quilted leather. Very decadent. (view from the desk during sound check) The ‘Ace of Spades‘ ring is proving a popular design at the moment, as you would have read from my previous post with Pepper Keenan and the Down shoot. Cristina wears it in the above photo, but this one is […]

Live: Rival Sons in London

I had heard some great things about Rival Sons; that they have been named the next Led Zeppelin. That’s some quite big shoes to fill. Monday night, they played the Electric Ballroom in Camden. I’ve photographed many bands at this venue in my career so far – from Shinedown to Fear Factory, but this was the first Rock ‘n’ Roll show. A different vibe, and (I think) Sold Out crowd that erupted with applause and cheering as they came on stage and went straight into ‘Keep on Swinging’. My first impression. WOW. My second, “Oh yeah, I’m here to take pictures!” Singer ‎Jay Buchanan‎ looked like a cross between Steven Tyler, Rod Stewart and Mick Jagger – the guy has serious style. His stage presence, enigmatic and his fancy footwork matching his vocal ability. I was definitely loving his shoes! I looked around at such a wide range of ages in the audience getting into the music – the kids as if they were literally witnessing rock ‘n’ roll for the first time and lapping it up. Rival Sons have the complete package, and there’s no ignoring them. I had also heard Jimmy Page was in attendance…wonder what he thought. […]

Those of you that guessed the band from my last post with the tiny section of the Blasphegram on the initial teasers – well done! Seventh Circle Artworks are delighted to release this Limited Edition piece today! Limited and individually numbered to only 33 pieces, this is a formidable chunk of solid sterling silver. Hand crafted and featuring the iconic Blasphegram on the top, and 2 carved goat heads either side. Weighing approximately 50g this is not for the faint hearted! Each ring comes in a high-gloss ebony presentation case, leather lined, with the Blasphegram in sterling silver on the lid. Here’s some close ups of the ring Stunning isn’t it?! You can purchase this bad boy from here. I would be fast if I were you, I’ve heard a rumour some have sold already ;) The ring, originally commissioned by Cyn Heretic who had been following Seventh Circle Artworks on Facebook. 8 months after the initial contact, SCA finished this ring for Cyn to present to each member of Morbid Angel and fulfill his dream. The presentation was made after their show in Atlanta on September 21st. Trey, David, Thor and Tim were left speechless by this gesture from […]

Seventh Circle Artworks in Rapture

On October 1st Seventh Circle Artworks will be releasing a piece of jewellery commissioned for a legendary US metal band by one of their biggest fans. This band have been at the forefront of extreme music for over 25 years and continue to push the boundaries of that genre.  Seventh Circle Artworks are honoured to have been chosen to create this Limited Edition ring, and, as their photographer, I too share in their excitement having seen and photographed this masterpiece. The ring will be strictly limited to just 33 pieces. Each will be individually numbered and presented in a custom made, ebony case featuring the band logo in silver on the lid. More will be revealed in a few days prior to the release, including detailed product images, but for now the above and below photos are for you to feast your eyes on. Mx

Makeover + Shoot Day #2

YES! We are back for another fun day which I’m so pleased about. The last Makeover + Shoot Day was a lot of fun, and I loved to see the ladies so happy with their hair, makeup and pictures. If you missed it, you can read all about it here. The next Day is November 18th at the same location – Murder Mile Studio. Here’s the poster for it If you’re after a simple portrait shoot with a plain background, or a completely different look entirely with one of the many great studio settings, you can’t miss this opportunity. It would make a great gift for a loved one, friend or family member, or even a treat day for yourself! Guys, I include you in that too, as it could be a treat for you when you get the pictures ;) The £140 fee includes: Pre-shoot consultation with me to make sure you get the shoot, style and look that you’re after. Studio time in the setting of your choice, glass of red or white wine (or non-alcoholic drink if you prefer) as you arrive at the studio, your hair styled by Ceri and makeup applied by Amber, half hour […]

Hello Colour!

My friend Laura is in town! She’s over from Los Angeles and we always make a point of hanging out and doing a shoot together. The above picture was our last hang out/shoot. I was 8 months pregnant and we rocked a shoot in my home with a failing smoke machine. Like this :) This time, Laura wanted to update her portfolio, and I also wanted to shoot with her for a piece of advertising – you will see that very soon. My work at the moment seem to be inspired by the weather and the colours that it brings. The sun has made an appearance here in the UK, and that’s fine by me. It means I can have an excuse to get a little girly with my photos, which happens not so often with the genre that I work in. Hello colour!! As always, Laura is super fun to shoot with. She is one of the few people that can work it with a keytar, like she does in her 80’s band glam punk rock band ‘Ankh’ out in LA. If that’s not enough, she’s an endorsee of Roland. Laura told me of her ultimate ambition involving Steel […]
