2016 in Pictures – Part 1

Well hello there, and a happy new year to you! Hope you had a great one with friends and loved ones. I know for a lot of us, that we are quite glad to see the back of 2016. Before I start full force into 2017, I like to take a look back at 2016, and perhaps it wasn’t as bad as I thought. Here’s how the first part of it looked for me… See you tomorrow for part 2! Mx

2015 in Pictures – Part 2

Following on from my previous post – part one of my year (2015) in pictures. Here’s how the 2nd half of my year looked… I wish you a very happy and healthy 2016. Thank you for your support! Mx

2015 in Pictures – Part 1

2015 was a pretty busy year for me personally and professionally. The renovations on our property got to a point where we could move in and start to turn it into our home – we are still working on it, and that will become a blog post of its very own soon. I also started snapping for Metal Hammer and Classic Rock Magazines, for which some awesome bookings have come my way so far. MegaBeth turned 16 and Jessica-Leigh started big school, making me feel quite old now. I prefer to talk through pictures, so this is the 1st of 2 blog posts of how my year looked…. Part 2 coming tomorrow. See you then! Mx

The ‘Gala’ Ring

In July of 2013, I approached my buddy Alex, at Seventh Circle Artworks (SCA) with an idea for another custom piece. This time, a ring shaped like a picture frame which incorporated my love of Vintage design and skulls. We met over a curry and some beers (always a good combo at an SCA meeting!). Turns out that he wanted to design a ‘frame ring’ as well, so we decided on a collaboration. Here’s my primitive initial sketch of the piece I had in mind. Filigree design, minature skulls, and scroll work. A little Baroque with some Rock ‘n’ Roll thrown in – Baroque ‘n’ Roll if you will 😉 Alex ran with my sketch, we talked a few times, I sent some inspirational images across and he developed it like this. The Gala Ring launched in October 2014. Plans to release a stone set version of The Gala Ring have reached fruition, and they are now available from the SCA webstore! Amethyst, Labradorite, Bloodstone and Garnet are currently available. However, you can choose your favourite stone to be set. I have a special discount for my friends (that’s you). London Life – Part 2 – Changing of the Guard

Almost everyday, something quite spectacular happens in London at Buckingham Palace. Having always wondered about the English tradition of the ‘Changing of the Guard’, I didn’t realise until I went, just what it was all about. My first attempt failed miserably, I couldn’t see anything, there were literally thousands and thousands of people congregated; not just outside Buckingham Palace, but all the way down the Mall. It was ridiculous! I went away, determined not to be defeated, and did a little research on how the whole Ceremony works. After a few visits (as there is SO much to see from many different places), I’m happy to share some pictures of this daily event in London. Experiencing this great spectacle has made me super-proud to be English. How the Queen has her post delivered 😉           The bands play in the Palace courtyard for about 15 minutes during the Ceremony. The times I went, they played some of the music from movies Star Wars and Grease.      The best places to stand for a good view are opposite the Palace gate (the most sought after place, so get there an hour before it’s due to start), and facing the Palace itself […]
