A busy busy festival! Arriving the day before Showtime with the unsigned stage crew we had our own party on Wednesday after setting up the stage and rigging.
Here’s the rest of the festival in brief as I was so busy on Main Stage, some Unsigned stage bands, backstage and the signing tent – a crazy time!
Photographed: Head On, Firewind, Kiuas and Testament live
Signings – Chris Slade and Testament
After I had photographed Testament’s first 3 songs I went back to Head-On’s dressing room and they were already drinking. Things got a bit crazy and the guys decided to feed Ross (the bass player) random things and I filmed it:
The night just got worse after that. Mark ended up being seen to by a paramedic as he wrestled someone to the ground badly and injured his hand. They drank vodka through their eyes and photographed each other going to the loo. HAHA.
I was a bit knackered from the late night/early morning’s shenanigans. Got out of the tent to find the guys from Forever Never had arrived and I would be taking their pics after I have had breakfast and a damn good cup of tea!
Photographed: Forever Never (unsigned stage), Scar Symmetry, Wolf, Korpiklaani, Epica, Nevermore, Dark Tranquility and Lacuna Coil
During Wolf’s set there was a problem with the generator and the stage lost sound. Rather than go off stage they handled it well by passing out some beers to the crowd and getting them to chant. Thankfully this didn’t go on too long as they only had a 24 pack of beer – and that wouldn’t stretch to the masses that were watching them!
Signings – Epica, Lacuna Coil and Scar Symmetry
I met sweet Simone from Epica backstage chatting to Cristina from Lacuna Coil. Simone was about to go to the signing tent and Cristina getting ready for the stage and then off to the signing tent.
A fantastic performance from Lacuna Coil ends the night.
Photographed: Benediction, Legion of the Damned, Finntroll, Dream Evil, Sabbat, Arch Enemy and In Flames
Signings – Arch Enemy, In Flames, Finntroll, Dream Evil, Sabbat
For the Friday and Saturday Louise – my friend from Uxfest 2006 and Terrorizer reviews editor was there with a stand, and worked the signing tent on the Sunday. We both worked so hard and were very pleased with ourselves!
I left the festival passed out on a pillow until I got home, woke up and carried my gear indoors and passed out. A very eventful long weekend.
